The Cedar County Library Board owns and operates a public library in El Dorado Springs. The library is an excellent resource for area residents. The library provides public access to computers, the internet, books and periodicals. The online research capabilities are quite extensive. The library is well equipped for everyone from young children to adults.

The library is also supported by a not-for-profit organization of volunteers. This organization is called Friends of the Library, Inc. These volunteers work very hard to improve the quality of the library for all patrons. Fundraising projects are used to enhance the library’s materials and the programs offered.
